How did you two meet?

We were in the same friend group after school which EVENTUALLY (not from lack of trying on Nick's part!) developed into a relationship and here we are!

How did Nick propose?

Nick and I took  the dogs for a walk up to the top of my parents' farm where I grew up, and he completely took me by surprise when he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him!

How did you choose your wedding dress?

I'm normally really indecisive so it took everyone by surprise when I found my dream dress in the first shop on my first dress shopping mission! I tried on ten different dresses but kept coming back to the very first one!

Tell us about your ceremony.

It was really special for me to be able to get married on my family farm which means so much to me. We were so lucky with the weork by a lot of people, mostly Nick and my parents. We made sure we positioned the archway so that it framed Mt Peel and then crossed our fingers that we would be able to actually see it on the day!

Our ceremony was short and sweet but so incredibly special and surreal. It was also great, logistically, that we were able to have the ceremony and reception in the same spot and made that side of planning a lot easier.

Do you have a favourite photo?

Our favourite photo was taken up in the Gorge when we are just having a wee moment to ourselves with the most incredible view. Sarah told us to just take a walk up the hill by ourselves and the photo she got is AMAZING! We already have it hanging in our lounge on a giant canvas. It was great to get away from all the craziness of the day by ourselves and just take a moment to appreciate it all and bask in our happiness.  This photo captures these feeling perfectly for us. I also really love the photo of both.

Tell us about your reception.

Our reception was in the Silk Estate Marquee in the paddock which my dad had been mowing and manicuring for months! We had an evening full of happiness, laughter and love and danced the night away. It rained later in the night but thankfully the weather didn't turn until everyone was inside the marquee and it made for some stunning photos!

What was your most memorable moment?

Aside from seeing Nick at the end of the aisle, the most memorable moment would have to be our friend surprising us all the way from Sweden.  Erik is a very close friend but we didn't expect him to come as they had just had a baby. Nick saw him in the supermarket the night before the wedding but I had no idea until Nick asked me if I had scanned the crowd when we were standing at the top of the aisle just after we had said our vows. The photographer got a photo of the moment I saw him which is really special.

Bride’s Advice

If you're thinking about getting a videographer but aren't sure, do it! I'm so glad that we did. I was in two minds but it's so great to be able to look back and relive it and listen to the speeches again. Also, organise as much as you can as early as you can. It’s totally worth it when it gets to those crazy few weeks before the wedding when all of those jobs you never thought of pop up!
