Canterbury Bride - Get the Wedding Day Glow

Photos of your wedding day last forever and it’s one of the reasons why many brides enlist the help of beauty professionals to ensure their skin is picture-perfect.

Many brides are on their own skin journey, so Canterbury Bride asked Jenny Little and her team at Transform Clinic for some great beauty advice.

What are some of the best treatments brides choose before their wedding?

Having consistent, non-invasive skin treatments like microdermabrasion or a hydrafacial every 4–6 weeks for 6–12 months before the wedding can make a huge difference to overall skin health and quality.

Dermal fillers and other injectable treatments such as Profhilo are fantastic. For best results they’re best used earlier rather than closer to the wedding day.

Why is it important to plan treatments well in advance?

Planning well means we can tailor specific treatments and skin improvement regimes to each individual bride’s needs. It also allows for down time for some treatments like lasers and injectables before the big day.

Some laser or IPL treatments are more suitable in the winter months when tanning has faded, so advanced planning, 6–12 months before the wedding, is highly recommended.

In the weeks leading up to the wedding, what would you recommend?

Fours weeks prior, I would suggest a botulinum treatment to frown, eyes and brow to ensure smooth and wrinkle-free skin for the all-important wedding photos.

Two to three days before the wedding, I would recommend a dermaplaning treatment with a Vitamin C infusion to get the skin looking as clear and as hydrated as possible. This will ensure wedding makeup is looking smooth and glowing on the wedding day – particularly successful for photographs.

And your best tip of all?

To make your skin really glow, my favourite is to make sure the skin is healthy. The daily habit of cleansing, hydration, and using stimulants like glycolic cream and Vitamin C serum. Add into this gentle exfoliation three times per week. I love the Dermatech products for all of these steps. And don’t forget to drink water and eat vegetables! This is an absolute must for skin health in the months prior to any bride’s wedding.
